The Land Rover Discovery Sport that was launched as the successor to the Land Rover Freelander 2 in 2014 has received a facelift. Here’s how the Land Rover Discovery Sport contrast with the pre-facelift brand.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport boasts some bold modification inside-out and the organization says that it is a true Land Rover that embodies what the land rover Discovery family stands for. From the more superior and pronounced design on the exterior, to a plusher and more feature-packed cabin on the interior, the luxury C-SUV has developed in every sense.
Initiating with the exterior design, the face lifted Land Rover Discovery Sport’s front-end is motivated by that of the Land Rover Discovery. At the front, the most important change is the sleeker, full-LED headlamps with LED DRLs that double as dynamic turn signals. In addition to these more ultra-modern headlights, the modified C-SUV has a modern radiator grille, revised lower intake layout and a modified bumper. The fog lamps are much graceful and have been positioned in a subtle manner below the air inlets. Moving to the back, changes include a modified bumper and tweaked LED tail lamps that look sharper and more striking.
Interior, the modern dashboard and latest steering wheel have been lifted straight from the Discovery, and these elements, along with a fully reorganized centre console, makes the cabin look much more up market and sophisticated. There’s a latest, 10.25-inch Touch Pro HD touch screen infotainment system with Apple Car Play, Android Auto and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
Latest equipment includes a 12.3-inch HD fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charger for smart phones, Clear Sight Ground View that provides a virtual 180-degree beneath the vehicle onto the touch screen, a smart modern view mirror that converts into a video screen at the flick of a switch to display the view from the rear camera and latest front seats with massage functionality as well. The second and third-row seats are also modern.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport has a 13% stiffer body for a more enjoyable and a safer drive. It packs 48-volt mild-hybrid automation, which was unavailable in the previous model. The mild-hybrid system empowers the engine to shut-off at speeds below 17 km/h and provides a torque boost of 140 Nm. The ZF 9-speed automatic transmission has been modified and provides a 2% fuel economy improvement. Unlike the previous model, the latest model comes with the Terrain Response 2, the brand’s second generation Active Driveline System.

A plug-in hybrid Version and a conventional three-cylinder petrol engine will be introduced later this year.
